The trade channel works, but you have to be persistant. Copy a line of text with a couple cubimals and their prices and whether to IM you our go to your street, and send it every 15 minutes or so. try not to get upset if noone contacts you immediately, it may take some time. Also posting a thread in the marketplace wouldnt hurt either. Hope this helps!
I'm going to go with plain old patience. It sounds like you are already trying the correct approach with the trade channel. Keep in mind that most rare cubies are all sorts of expensive and even people that are interested realize they don't have enough cash to bother replying. Eventually however you should end up with the right guy watching the trade channel at the right time.
I sell in SDBs. Check glitch remote for prices. There's a home/towers section and you can search for whatever type(s) of cubimals you have, then click on it and get all the listings. I'll post a link. Happy selling!
eclipse, most players who start selling cubimals way overestimate their value and overprice them. So it's important to find out what the market is right now. Prices have fallen lately as many glitchen are selling everything they can to raise currants to buy the new rare collectors items. To find current prices got to http://www.glitchremote.com/, click the Home/Towers tab and then type the name of the cubimal you want to sell into the search box. Click on the cubimal icon when it comes up. This will bring up a list of all that cubie for sale in tower SDBs and is a very good indicator of current pricing. You don't necessarily have to beat the lowest price, but you'd better be close. Once you have a competive price you can advertise on the Trade Channel or the Market Forum.
I wouldn't say Trade is "useless" - if you post about something that people actually want to buy, with a price that is appealing and a clear presentation, you will often find someone to buy. But Trade doesn't create a demand and customers for you; economic principles apply there - the mere fact that you would like to sell something at a specific price doesn't mean that posting to the chat will magically generate someone who wants that item, who is prepared to pay the price you demand (especially if others offer the item for less), who has the required money, and who is online and looking at the channel in the precise instant you make your post.
By now, most people who regularly buy and sell things in the price range of rare cubimals are aware of the existing tools for price comparison. So, if you want to sell things quickly, you will need to use those tools as well, and you'll need to price your cubimals according to current price range. Even then, it may well take some time until you make money. The only guaranteed way of making quick money is to sell items to the vendors, or to offer under-priced yellow crumb flowers in the Trade chat for less than you would earn if you were to shuck and sell the seeds yourself. Everything else is a game of patience and even luck.
Arietty - I think Pixel was referring to this thread.
Pixel - No need to rib the guy. I think this thread could actually be helpful to alot of Glitch who are having trouble selling, although, it probably wouldn't hurt to change the title...
no, he's not selling. He's asking a question and has received some pretty great answers here that will help a lot of other folk who may also not have been aware (wow..that was the world's longest sentence).
