Our First App and Developer Site; Live!

Glitch is breaking beyond the browser in exciting new ways and bringing players closer to the game across many platforms. To start with, we’ve just launched our first-ever mobile app, Glitch HQ, so you can keep up-to-date with everything happening on the home page. iPhone and iPod users can download it here from the Apple App Store to: read, post, and reply to updates, accept contact requests, learn and switch skills, and visit player profile pages to admire avatars in all their splendor.

We’re even more excited to see a community of developers flourish and find innovative ways to extend the world of Glitch. We’ve already seen the first glimpses of API-based apps for things like inventory management, the auction system, achievement-tracking and mini-games.

With the full avatar spritesheets available in the API, we dream of Glitch characters overflowing the bounds of the browser —and even the game itself— to find new adventures, anywhere people can take them. To this end, our new developer site is chock-full of resources to enable web/HTML5, iOS, and Android developers to build interesting applications leveraging Glitch APIs.

Developer Site

On the developer site, you’ll not only find documentation on our existing APIs, but also iOS and Android SDKs, sample applications, developer tutorials, and graphic packs. It even has its own blog, where you can keep up with new developer tools, check out applications being made, and hear stories from developers who are creating new Glitch experiences with our API.
