So Long, and Thanks for All the Butterflies

It is with heavy typing fingers that we write to tell you that Daniel Burka is leaving the ’Speck as a full-timer to reunite with his old Digg-mate, Kevin Rose. We will sorely miss him — Daniel made an amazing contribution during his time as Director of Design and Glitch would not be nearly as inviting, attractive, simple, or smartly-built without his keen eye, fancy mouse-work and CSS-fu — but as a team woven with many decades of working together in various forms in different companies, we understand the desire to work with old friends, colleagues and fellow travelers.

Daniel will still be involved in Glitch part-time as a consultant and advisor: it’s not that the Burka-fication will cease completely, there’ll just be a little less of it to spread around. And it’s comforting to know that he’ll still be out there, fighting the good fight, making the web better one pixel at a time.

So, Daniel: thank you so much. We wouldn’t be where we are today without you and we’re excited to see what comes next. Good luck, brother.

By the way, did we mention we’re hiring designers? ;)
